Be thankful and demonstrate kindness

Ah, Thanksgiving. It’s one of my favorite holidays. I really love this time of year, especially the big day overflowing with family and food! Whether you watch the Macy’s Day parade, feast on a delicious turkey dinner, or strategize your Black Friday shopping plan, what could be better than that?

There’s more to it, of course, than marching bands, football scores, and fighting over the wishbone. There are countless other ways to be thankful and demonstrate kindness. As Rumi said, "Wear gratitude like a cloak, and it will feed every corner of your life." One of the best ways to show gratitude is by helping others in need.

During this time of year there are lots of opportunities to give, so many ways to lend a helping hand. A few things come to mind. Maybe you could:

· Volunteer at a soup kitchen to assist with a holiday meal

· Donate food to a food bank

· Pack a care box for someone in the military

· Make holiday cards for a senior

First and foremost, here’s hoping you get to spend Thanksgiving with family and friends. That’s always the right approach. Be safe, spend time with those that matter, and remember, no matter how you choose to give, it always makes a difference.
