Life is full of adventures

Two questions: 1) Who doesn’t love finding hidden treasure? 2) Have you heard about “geocaching”? In case you haven’t, it has been described as “the recreational activity of hunting for and finding a hidden object by means of GPS coordinates posted on a website.” There are more than 3 million geocaches worldwide, hidden on all seven continents. It’s a hobby I have enjoyed for over 15 years now. It’s a great way to get some exercise, develop additional knowledge and respect for our planet, travel to unique locations I hadn’t even considered, and meet some amazing people along the

The rules of geocaching are simple:

· Go to the geocaching.com website to find a cache near you

· Use your smartphone or GPS to navigate to the cache location

· Once you find the cache, sign the logbook

· Put everything back the way you found it

Don’t let these simple rules fool you! You may spend considerable time in one location only to come up empty or to finally locate something so cleverly hidden that it was right there the whole time. Part of the enjoyment of “caching” is the search and, hopefully, finding the treasure in the end.

Life can be the same way; we can be so focused on a single goal only to discover that we should have been looking somewhere else. Perhaps we even need to step back and look at things differently to find what we are searching for. Life offers us many adventures and hidden treasures; all we have to do is to stop, take the time to look, and find a few along the way.
